2 Awards and 5 Nominations

Our internet was finally fixed–Praise the Lord! Here is my first post and because I am combining several posts into one, I will not be posting a seperate second post. Instead, I am giving you a 2-in-1 and my schedule will now go back to normal.

  • Let each nominee know you’ve nominated them and give a link to your post

Audrey’s Questions

Do you prefer reading or writing better?

I am not that much of a writer–I love writing, I just have a hard time getting what swims around in my head out on paper. So I would have to say that I prefer reading much more.

What’s your dream job?

Well ultimately of course I would love to be a mom. However, career-wise, I have always thought it would be awesome to be a nurse.

What would your dream home look like?

Wow, if i gave a detailed explanation, I could go on for days! Therefore, I will just say the one thing that I would totally want in my dream house. I would want to put a wardrobe in my closet and when you open the wardrobe, instead of it being full of clothes, it is actually a door into a whole library complete with floor to ceiling bookshelves full of all my favorite genres, a sliding ladder, a fireplace, a giant soft rug, big comfy chairs, and huge bay windows all around.

How would you describe yourself in 5 words?

Hmmm…maybe bossy, bookworm, stuborn, diligent, and introverted.

What’s your favorite season?

Definately fall! The smells, the colors, the weather…mmmmm! I also enjoy summer though!

Baking or cooking?

Cooking–I am not big on desserts.

Esmerelda’s Questions

What is your favorite type of tree?

That is a very interesting question! I like big, tall, bushy trees so I can climb them, and because they are prettier and give lots of shade, because where I live what we call trees are really bushes!

Would you rather go for a walk early in the morning or late at night?

Definately early in the morning. I am 100% a morning person–I love getting up before the sun and working out. I can always get so much done in the mornings, not to mention I feel so much better if I go to bed early and get up early. When the sun is just coming up, and the busyness of the world has not started–when the birds are just beginning to chirp, and its just me and God and nature–that’s when I love being awake! I am a very firm believer and follower of the saying “early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise”.

Do you journal on a regular basis, or at all?

I am not sure exactly what you mean by this, but if you mean write in a journal, than yes, I try to write in my diary as regularly as I can.

What is your favorite spring flower?

I really like the brightness of daisies!

Would you rather spend your whole day writing essays or doing math?

It depends on what the essay topics are about. If I get to choose the topic, than I would rather the essays, but if the topics are chosen for me, I would rather do math.

Do you hate, like, love or LOVE chocolate?

I used to LOVE chocolate, but then I became allergic to it and since then, I do not really care for it that much. I like dark chocolate best of all though.

If you could live anywhere in the world for six months doing anything you want, where would you go and would you do?

Now that is an awesome yet super hard question! There are so many places I would like to go and so many things I would like to do! I think it would be cool to go on a missions trip to somewhere like Uganda, Africa and help out in the orphanages there; but I also think it would be cool to go to somewhere like a small quiet village in the Swiss Alps, and not really do anything but relax and recharge.

What is something about you that most people don’t know?

I am actually not really sure exactly what people do and do not know about me. I would say though that when people first meet me they often percieve me as super quiet and shy, but then after I get to know them they quickly see that I have wild side as well!

Do you prefer tea or coffee?

I honestly do not care for either one, but if I was going to drink one of them raw, I would pick tea.

What is your current favorite song?

Wow! I have so many! Right now I would have to say that my favorite song is either “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten or “Priceless” by For King and Country.

If you could meet someone famous (anyone from the president to a movie star), who would you want to meet?

Oh my–that is hard! Oh wait, actually I think it would be cool to meet Joel and Luke Smallbone from For King and Country.

Thank you both Audrey nd Esmerelda for nominating me and for the awesome questions as well! I had fun answering them!

I will do the nominations and questions for both awards at the end.

Award #2–Sunshine Blogger Award

I was nominated for this award by Elisha from Africa Boy, Lydia from In His Service and Loving It, and Abby from Photos by Abby Rose.

Elisha’s Questions

Which college would you love to go to and why?

I have always wanted to go to Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida because pretty much all my school life I have done some form of their cirriculum Abeka and have really enjoyed it.

What inspired you to choose your blog name?

Well I had actually been going through way too many blog names trying to pick “the one”. All of the names I had come up with did not suite the content that I wanted to have on my blog. I wanted to be able to post about ALL things bookish, not just book reviews. I was having a hard time coming up with a name that was unique but yet broad. Sort of out of the blue I came up with the name Ani’s Books. Ani is my nickname, and I liked how it sounded with the title. I thought Ani’s Books was broad enough where I could post about anything that had to do with books, and short enough where people could remember it.

If you were to get married and go on a honeymoon, where would you want to go?

I honestly think that it would be awesome and lots of fun to just rent an RV for a few weeks and tour the United States–visit a lot of national parks, go hiking, and sight-see.

What are your opinions on High School dating?

I think everyone has their own convictions, so I wouldnot say someone is wrong for dating in highschool. However, I personally have a conviction to not date until I am old enough to get married. I think if a person is not old enough to get married–or is not outr of high school–it is not wise to date, because then something serious turns into something for fun. I do not want to give away all my firsts to a man I am not going to marry. I do not want to date a man unless I can see myself marrying him. And regardless even of that, I am not going to date in the first place unless I am out of high school.

Describe your family.

I would say we are very active–we hike, run, and do a lot of outdoor activities. Ever since I was six my parents have made each of us kids run several miles each morning; now that I am older, though, I work out instead. I would also say we are diligent and determined–we do not quit until the job is done. We are all readers. We do not own a TV and most of us do not have any electronic devices other than MP3 players, so most of our time is spent reading or being outside instead. My dad makes sure we all read at least one non-fiction book a week and write a book report on it as well. Most weeks we all spend several hours a day reading. I often read even more than that though. Even my six-year-old brother LOVES listening to books. We also know how to get things done, but we also know how to have fun. I would say we are not the perfect family, but it is the perfect family for me.

Would would be your ideal birthday gift?

I think a trip to somewhere with my entire family would be awesome! Like a trip to Machi Pichu!

Who is the most influential person in your life?

Obviously my parents. However, I would say that there are several authors that have influenced me as well. Ben Courson, Chuck Black, Rachel Cruze, Charlotte Bronte, and Dave Ramsey among others.

Are you related to someone famous?

Yes, in one of my previous posts I shared this as well. I am distantly related to Pochahontas.

What, to you, is the hardest part about blogging?

Definately being consistent. Keeping up with posting is really hard for me. Specifically putting together my book reviews is pretty time-consuming for me.

What does your blogging schedule usually look like?

Well the way I do book reviews usually goes like this: read the book (10% of my time), write the book review (70% of my time), post review on my blog (20% of my time). I also recently posted my weekly posting schedule which you can view here.

What is your favorite book?

This is the worng question to ask a bookworm! I could give you a list as long as Santa’s nice and naughty list! XD I do have posted on my about pge currently that my favorite book is Optimisfits by Ben Courson. Optimisfits is really just my favorite book that I have posted a review about on my blog. However, honestly I have many favorites, and since I read so much my favorites are always changing. If you read some of my other award posts though, you can read what some of my other favorites are. My most recent book that I thoroughly enjoyed is Cole and Sav you can read my review of it here.

Lydia’s Questions

To tell the truth, I do admit that I check emails during vacation. However, this is only because if I do not I will have to delete what seems like hundreds of emails, when we get home.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Idealy, I would love to be married and graduating with a 4-year degree in nursing.

I would say it is probably my indescisiveness.

I have read a lot of authors who inspired me actually like I said in one of the questions above.

Are you super talkative?

I would say it depends. I can be very talkative if I am around people I know, but if I am around people I do not know, than I am more quiet and shy.

What is the yummiest desert you’ve ever eaten?

THM Cinnaomn Bundt Cake

Do you enjoy exercising?

Yes, I love excercising!

Love Your Life Not Theirs by Rachel Cruze. It was really inspriring to me to stop comparing myself to others’ lives. Optimisfits is another good one though.

Modern. I do think it would be cool to have a hint of rustic though.

Are you a morning person or night person?

100% morning person!

I’m borrowing this question from Ezra…what’s the latest time you’ve ever slept in?

Because I am a morning person, I have honestly never slept in very late. I think the latest I have ever slept in is nin o’clock AM. Usually I wake up at 5 AM so even when I try to sleep in, I end up getting up at 7.
