In this world today, we have smartphones, laptops, and other electronic devices to organize our life; occasionally we might even see the rare form of organization on an old-fashioned calendar or sticky note. However, where are the devices to organize our private worlds—our inner lives? Because we can not own a device that can do that, George MacDonald gives a book on how to. Ordering Your Private World is the tangible guide on how to bring order to your every day. Christian’s can be like an unread book sometimes—of value, but not near as much as if he had chosen to grow and sharpen his mind. One’s spiritual world is just as important as his physical world; without one or the other, each can not reach its full potential. God is calling each and every person to a specific thing. However, we can not learn of that thing until we accept his calling. Once we accept His calling, we can begin to live our lives to their full potential. Another important aspect to ordering your private world is time. Time is the easiest thing to lose and the hardest to find. Disorganized time is most often the cause of a disorganized private world. In addition, carelessness about either work or God are symptoms of a disorganized person. George MacDonald’s Ordering Your Private World is the most tangible we can get to owning a device that organizes our private world. Using real-life stories and examples, MacDonald brings together a great guide to bringing organization back into one’s life.

I always love reading self-help books, because I always love being inspired and motivated to try something new. I am a very neat person, however, organizing–well, lets just say that’s not my strong point. I struggle with organization, and am always losing things because of it. My private world isn’t any different. I might be very punctual and diligent, but I struggle because of my lack of orginization.
I enjoyed Ordering Your Private World because it put into tangible perspective how to get organization back into my private life. I learned how to organize my time better, as well as how to keep track of my time and stop losing it. MacDonald did a great job balancing explaining with engaging. I found this book pretty easy to read, and I understood everything I read.
I reccomend this book to all of the other people who, like me, might be neat yet struggle with organization. Who love organization, but lack it. However, I also reccomend Ordering Your Private World is to any person–with lack of organization or not–who have a desire to learn…because learning is never a waste.

Ani – Thanks for reviewing this book. It dovetails with something the Lord showed me yesterday in prayer. May God bless your day.
